Ski Resort Private Texting Groups
LINKS NOW LIVE FOR THE SEASON!
Wouldn’t it be nice to communicate with fellow Women Who Ski (WWS) members at a particular ski resort to connect for a day on the slopes or simply to make a few runs together? Our WWS private texting groups are the way to do that.
Here’s an example of how it works: I live two hours from Big Sky Resort. When I feel like hitting the fresh powder, I can open up the WWS Big Sky Resort group chat and send out a text to see if other WWS ladies in the group want to join me. Or, I can check the text thread daily to see if others are texting about skiing and make a plan to join them. Instructions on how to participate in this are further down on this webpage. Please note this is a work in progress. These private text groups work splendidly on our WWS trips so we’re expanding them as a member benefit. Please abide by best practices when communicating with others.

Exclusive Ski Resort Texting Groups for Women Who Ski Members
How it works
Step 1: Download the Telegram Messenger app from the App store on iPhone or the Google Play store on Android. It can also be downloaded on your computer. Visit Telegram.org for links.
Step 2: Follow the prompts to create a free account. Please use your real first and last name and upload a headshot profile photo of yourself without sunglasses or goggles so members feel comfortable about who they are meeting. Members who choose not to follow these guidelines will not be allowed in the group. Providing a profile photo is an indicator of transparency on your part thereby adding an extra layer of security for the meet-ups.
Step 3: Click on the link below for the ski resort(s) groups you want to join. Please join only the groups where you will be an active participant, so for example, if you’re traveling to Vail or are a local to the Vail area (including Denver) then join the Vail group. Please do not join a group just to observe or lurk. We want members to feel comfortable with others in the group with a goal of facilitating ski and snowboard meet-ups and finding your next ski buddy.
We are looking for moderators for each of our texting groups. Moderators oversee the conversations to ensure they stay on task, that is, meeting up to ski, carpool, aprés, etc. Channels are not a place to sell gear or advertise products. This is a brand new venture with the hopes of having our very own Women Who Ski app someday. For now, we’re testing the idea of using private texting groups to meet the demand of women who want to find other women to ski with at a particular ski area. Let me know what’s working and what’s not. Constructive feedback is welcome. Gen@WomenWhoSki.org.
Below are the chat groups. The links are now live. To join a group, you must have already created an account on Telegram. Remember full name and a profile photo are required. Once your account is created, click on the link to join it.

FAQs

We work on the honor system at Women Who Ski. We trust you will only use these discounts for yourself and not share them with anyone outside our paying membership. Our vendors will be tracking usage on their end. Same with texting groups. Only WWS paid members can participate. Certainly, if you're traveling with others to Palisades Tahoe, you can purchase for your family and friends using the discounts, along with purchasing items from our vendors listed here for friends and family. Thank you for understanding.
-
Yes, all discounts are multi-use so can be used by you more than once. They do, however, expire at the end of the ski season.
-
These discount codes are good for the 2024/2025 winter season. They expire between April 30 and May 31, 2025.

Telegram is one of the top 5 most downloaded apps in the world with more than 950 million active users. It is a messaging app that uses end-to-end encryption, and our WWS channels are private so cannot be found or viewed by the general public.
-
Unlike WhatsApp, Telegram is a cloud-based messenger with seamless sync. Plus, it has more features available that make it easy for us to manage our chats. Thanks to Telegram's multi-data center infrastructure and encryption, it is faster and way more secure. You may be pleasantly surprised with all the benefits when you start to use it. To learn more about Telegram, visit the FAQs in the settings after you create a free account.

This list represents the most asked-for ski areas. For example, no member asked for Aspen in our initial membership push that is why it's not listed. And Whistler, for example, was only mentioned by one member. This is our first year developing and using text groups, so to keep it manageable while we work out any bugs we will start with this smaller list. Based on the success and usage, others will be created, along with eventually separating out, say, Killington, from the rest, if the channel gets too crowded.
-
At this initial launch, with no moderators on board yet, I, Genevieve, decided to group by geographic region for certain resorts based on demand. If the chat in the channel gets too confusing because there are multiple mountains, please let me know and I'll consider building a separate channel for it.
-
No, she cannot unless she is a paying member of WWS. These channels are created for members to connect with one another. It takes time and money to manage these. We've created a separate membership category, Level 2 Tier for women who want to use the channels and take advantage of the discounts. Visit the membership page for details.
-
This is the first year that we are rolling out our mountain texting groups for members. As our membership grows, so will the number of women in the texting groups. Thank you for being part of this groundbreaking initiative to help us grow it. Please share it with your friends so that more ladies can share the love of skiing and snowboarding together.
-
Please reach out to me, Genevieve, at Gen@WomenWhoSki.org if you'd like to help and we can discuss what’s entailed and how you can help. Thank you.
