A. No refunds are given. You are buying access to our trips and the privilege of being one of the first to know when we announce them. Must like a traditional ski club, you pay a membership dues annually to have access to the group’s activities. This helps us offer the trips and chat groups to you in the first place.
Q. Is Women Who Ski on any other social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok?
A. Our main social media presence is on Facebook. However, we launched a Women Who Ski profile on Instagram in March 2025 as a way to spread the word about our amazing group. We use Instagram mainly to point people to our Facebook group and this website. We are not on any other social media platforms.
Q. What is the difference between Women Who Ski and a local ski club?
A. Before Facebook came into existence, formal ski clubs with membership rosters and dues existed in local communities as a way for like-minded people to get together as a group and take a ski vacation at reduced costs by securing group rates. Women Who Ski started as a Facebook affinity group, but as the group has grown so has the enthusiasm for women to ski with other women through organized trips. To facilitate the trips, it’s imperative that we create a more formal structure away from the ever changing environment of a social media platform, hence the creation of this website and membership model.
Q. Who is the team behind Women Who Ski?
A. Women Who Ski, the name and the concept, was created by Genevieve Schmitt, a lifelong skier based in Montana. In the fall of 2025, Genevieve brought in a partner, Jena Sabatini, as CEO - Chief Experience Officer, who is developing our private membership community in the Mighty Networks App. You can read more about them on the About Us page.
Q. How big is the Women Who Ski group and where do members live?
A. As of November 2025, the Facebook group has close to 18,000 members, by far the largest organized group of female skiers and snowboarders in existence, with women hailing from all over the world. During the summer months in the northern hemisphere, members enjoy seeing photos of ladies from places like Australia, New Zealand, Chile, even Africa who are enjoying their winter ski time in the southern hemisphere.
Q. Has Women Who Ski organized any official group trips yet?
A. In January 2023, Women Who Ski held its first Official Trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. In 2024, we offered four ski trips with all selling out: Jackson Hole Mountain Resort; Whitefish Resort, Montana; Sun Valley Resort; and Whistler-Blackcomb in Canada.
