What started as one woman looking for a ski buddy has turned into a global movement!

Jena Sabatini, CEO–Chief Experience Officer

Jena joined Women Who Ski in the fall of 2025 as Chief Experience Officer with a vision of expanding Women Who Ski to its next level. She is a seasoned business leader specializing in sales, marketing, and community engagement. Her professional career was in the hotel industry with the majority of years as an owner-operator of franchised Marriott, Hilton, and Choice hotel brands. In retirement, she founded a social enterprise business called Fun Events for the purpose of planning events that put the fun in fundraising and donating the money raised to local nonprofits.  

Jena has lived in Montana since 2005 and is an avid traveler, outdoor enthusiast, and self-proclaimed ski addict. She learned to ski in the 5th grade, and enjoys downhill, backcountry, classic and skate cross country skiing. Her love of travel has her skiing numerous resorts each season with a majority of those days at Grand Targhee and Big Sky Resort. Jena is excited to bring her strategic vision with a commitment to community impact to her role as Chief Experience Officer at Women Who Ski.  

Genevieve Schmitt, Founder

Genevieve Schmitt created the Women Who Ski Facebook group in 2015 to find ladies to ski with and to showcase her K2 Ski Ambassador activities. Genevieve worked as an ambassador with K2 Sports until 2018 serving the Big Sky, Montana, area. She hosted several International Women’s Ski Day events (IWSD) there. K2 was the company that originated the IWSD concept. The Facebook group continues to grow with close to 18,000 members worldwide.

In 2022, Genevieve formalized Women Who Ski as a business to begin offering all-women ski trips. The trips sell out each year. Genevieve is professional journalist and marketer who spent most of her career in the women’s motorcycling space. She is known for creating the largest and most prolific resource for female motorcyclists online that contributed to the explosive growth of women riding motorcycles over the last two decades. Genevieve lives in Montana has been skiing since age 10. She calls Big Sky Resort her home mountain.
